To ensure that your stay at Hostel Home Sweet Home is as pleasant as possible, we ask that you please read the following House Rules.

General Rules

Sleeping bags are not allowed.
Bed linen is included in the accommodation price. Guests can exchange it free of charge at reception after 7 nights use.
One towel is included in the accommodation price. Guests can exchange it free of charge at reception after 3 nights use.
Guests can not use the hostel for any commercial purposes.
Guests who have been evicted will not receive a refund.
We are not responsible for any personal injuries of our guests.
For security reasons, some common areas are under video surveillance.
Property left at the hostel will be disposed of after 15 days.
Pets and other animals are prohibited.
Nudity is strictly forbidden.
Cleaning the hostel is performed daily between 09 am and 1 pm.

Check In

Check in is from 12 pm to 10 pm. Guests may arrive earlier and leave their luggage at the hostel, but access to rooms will not be granted until after 12 pm. Guests must provide a valid identification document for the check in. We accept Passport or Photo IDs. Management may request additional information, as required from guests.

Check Out

Check out is from 07 am to 10 am. Departing guests must remove all their belongings from their rooms/dorm and check out by 10 am. There is an additional charge for late check outs, so make sure you’re up and ready in time! If you need to store your luggage on the day of your departure, please arrange it with reception. We offer free luggage storage until 10 pm.

Room allocation

When booking beds in dorm rooms for you and other people, we may not be able to put you in the same room. Book a private room or whole dorm if you want to guarantee a room together.

Room/Locker key, Invoice

Upon check in, guests will receive a room key or locker key with an invoice (proof of payment). Reception staff may ask to see this invoice at any time, so please keep this safe with the room/locker key. If you lose your room/locker key, you will be charged RSD 1200 for a replacement.

Age Restrictions

Bookings cannot be accepted from any person under the age of 16, unless they are accompanied by an adult over 18. Guests who wish to bring children under 16 years of age must book a whole dorm or a private room. Guests aged 16 or 17 can book into one of dorm rooms, but must be accompanied by an adult over 18. Unlike some hostels we do not have an upper age limit. Most of our guests are backpackers in the 18 to 30 age range. Please be aware that you may be assigned a top bunk.

Guest Behaviour

The comfort, safety and security of our guests is of utmost importance to us at Hostel Home Sweet Home. Any guest(s) who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents will be requested to leave the hostel premises and will not be offered a refund. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff, local residents and property.

Night-time rules

We respect our neighbors and want to maintain a good relationship with them. From 10 pm to 07 am, noise should be kept to a minimum in the bedrooms or corridors. You can stay in the common room 24 hours a day, there is no curfew but we ask you to not disturb others when returning to the hostel late at night.


It is forbidden to bring visitors who are not registered in the hostel into the private rooms and dorms. The private space can only be used by guests registered at the hostel. Public space for receiving visitors are the living room and dining room and are open from 07 am to 10 pm. It is mandatory for visitors to provide a reason of visit to the hostel staff. Visitors must leave their valid identification document with reception on the time of visit.

No Smoking

Smoking is prohibited within the premises. Any guest found smoking within the hostel will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund.

No Drugs, No Weapons

Drugs and weapons of any kind are prohibited. Drug use is illegal in Serbia. We reserve the right to confiscate them and notify the police.

Food and beverages

Consumption of food and beverages is not allowed in the bedrooms; only in the common room, dining room at reception, and kitchen. You can store food and drinks in the guest’s kitchen. Please mark your food and drinks with your name and the date of departure, otherwise it will be discarded. After every use, please wash the dishes and clean the cooking area.

Alcohol consumption

Alcohol consumption is only allowed for guests over the age of 18. Alcohol can only be consumed in the dining room and kitchen.

Personal Property

It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure that all their personal belongings are secure at all times. Hostel Home Sweet Home accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to guests’ property, however sustained or caused. We strongly recommend you bring a padlock to use for your luggage and backpack.

Damage to Hostel Home Sweet Home Property

Guests will be expected to reimburse Hostel Home Sweet Home for any damage caused to the property by inappropriate behaviour during their stay.

Property belonging to Hostel Home Sweet Home

It is strictly forbidden to take any property belonging to Hostel Home Sweet Home outside of the hostel premises. Any guest found taking property from the hostel will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund.

Your Information

Hostel Home Sweet Home will only store and use information supplied by the guest: for the purposes of contractual agreement with Hostel Home Sweet Home, reservation, and to inform you of other services and offers which we make available from time to time. We strive to be environmentally friendly in all manner of ways at Hostel Home Sweet Home. We ask our guests to do the same. Please do not leave the water running if not in use and turn off the lights when you leave the room.

Who Checks House Rules?

The owner, manager, staff members and security service have the right to check if the house rules are followed at any time and on all the premises without asking for permission.
